Mayor Doug French – Criminal or Just Stupid?
Mayor Douglas French secretly renovated his rental home in Rye over many years including converting its heating system from oil to gas without any of the inspections or permits required by the Rye City Building Code. He took an illegal STAR tax exemption on that same rental property for over nine years ñ until he was exposed by our investigation last December. And heís paid property taxes on that same home for two decades at the Rye multi-family unimproved structure rate even though the house had long ago secretly been improved to a more valuable single family dwelling.

Is it any wonder then that Mayor French also still allows 34 homes on the shores of Long Island Sound to avoid city and county sewage and health code enforcement? Untreated raw human sewage seeps into Long Island Sound – water is collected from house rooftops for domestic use – thousands of gallons of this water are stored openly ñ breeding annual swarms of mosquitoís to plague residents of Greenhaven and Milton Point. To find out more about these – and other environmental crimes and lawlessness in Rye please visit the rest of our web site.

Monday Morning from 4:30 AM until 8:30 AM healtheharbor.com was at the Rye train station
encouraging commuters not to vote for Steve Otis. Healtheharbor.com sponsored free newspapers and
coffee to all commuters during the morning rush hour.

We displayed photos through out the station lobby from our web site and educated voters and commuters
alike as to the failure of Mayor Otis to enforce health and environmental codes on Hen Island. Mr. Floatie
and Jack A was also on hand to greet commuters on the platform for the morning rush hour. Mr. Floatie’s
message was a simple one “Get Rid Of Otis and You Will Get Rid of Me”Attached is a photo of Mayor Otis
and Mr. Floatie greeting commuters with opposing messages one day before the election.

Mayor Doug French and Rye City Hall Council Members
The above Rye City council members currently condone pollution that is entering The Long Island Sound via Hen Island. They refuse to enforce laws that protect the community, the environment, and the health and safety of the residents and children of Rye. Additionally they allow bird feces water to be collected from rooftops and used for domestic use as well as allowing one of Westchester Counties largest mosquito infestations to continue on Hen Island without any effective mosquito control program in place.

Mulish Refusal by Rye to Admit Environmental Wrongs Attracts New Sure-footed Supporter

Mr. jackie A. and Mr. Floatie address the councilRye, New York—February 22, 2009
Despite public outrage about environmental “mistakes,” made by City of Rye officials with regard to both Bob Schubert’s wetlands garden and to the sanitary and building code violations on Hen Island, Mayor Steven Otis and the city council continue to stubbornly refuse to admit that errors have been made and to take immediate transparent steps to correct them.

Heeding the Feb 20th call of Rye City Fecal Council spokes-turd Mr. Floatie to “help plumb the depths of this malodorous misadventure in municipal malfeasance” is a new supporter of the cause of environmental preservation – the fabulous feather brained four legged party animal, Mr. Jack A.

Always fun and ever willing to expose political hypocrisy Mr. Jack A is a mute but keen eyed witness to Rye City administrative municipal mulishness. Stubborn and unable to think his way out of even the simplest jam, Mr. Jack A shares many traits with the current Rye City council.

Mr. Floatie welcomed Mr. Jack A to the cause and stated “We’re thrilled to have a real Jack A at our side as we prepare to hoof and bray our way to victory in Rye.” Mr. Jack A mutely signaled his commitment to joining Mr. Floatie at each and every City Council meeting in the coming months as the fight for environmental justice grinds on.

Welcome Mr. Jack A!
